Safety is one of our top priorities at Ortwein Sign. This goes for our employees and our signs. As the world has changed in our 97 years as a business, we’ve made sure to keep up with the ever-evolving safety standards. Whether we’re building out a brand new sign, or restoring an old sign, we make sure to follow the UL manufacturing standards.
UL, or Underwriters Laboratories, is a non-profit that helps “advance safety science” in several fields including the sign industry. To quote UL’s website “The UL Mark has earned strong recognition in the sign industry and is widely accepted by electrical inspectors and other regulatory authorities” Our sign technicians are trained in UL safety standards, and when an inspector sees the UL mark on our signs it means we’re complying with the latest in safety criteria.
Though not all sign companies are UL certified, we believe this is essential for our business and we are proud of our UL certification.
